Chapter Introduction

٩٤ ـ باب في الَاستخارة والمشاورة

الْقُرْآنُ الْكَرِيمُسُورَةُ آلِ عِمۡرَانَ (3:159)

فَبِمَا رَحْمَةٍ مِّنَ اللَّهِ لِنتَ لَهُمْ ۖ وَلَوْ كُنتَ فَظًّا غَلِيظَ الْقَلْبِ لَانفَضُّوا مِنْ حَوْلِكَ ۖ فَاعْفُ عَنْهُمْ وَاسْتَغْفِرْ لَهُمْ وَشَاوِرْهُمْ فِي الْأَمْرِ ۖ فَإِذَا عَزَمْتَ فَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى اللَّهِ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُحِبُّ الْمُتَوَكِّلِينَ

( سُورَةُ آلِ عِمۡرَانَ (3:159) )

Translation: Allah said:

Translation: " And due to the Mercy of Allah, you dealt with them gently. And had you been severe and hard-hearted, they would have broken away from about you, so pass over (their faults), and ask (Allah's) Forgiveness for them, and consult with them on affairs. Then when you have taken a decision, put your trust in Allah, certainly, Allah loves those who put their trust (in Him). *** (3: 159) And

الْقُرْآنُ الْكَرِيمُسُورَةُ الشُّورَىٰ (42:38)

وَالَّذِينَ اسْتَجَابُوا لِرَبِّهِمْ وَأَقَامُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَأَمْرُهُمْ شُورَىٰ بَيْنَهُمْ وَمِمَّا

( سُورَةُ الشُّورَىٰ (42:38) )

Translation: " And those who answer the Call of their Lord (i.e. to believe that He is the only One Lord (Allah), and to worship none but Him Alone), and perform the prayer, and who (conduct) their affairs by mutual consultation, and who spend of what We have bestowed on them... *** (42: 38)

٣٤١ - حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمِنْ بْنُ أَبِي الْمَوَالٍي عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْن عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ كَانَ رَسُوَلَالله يُعَلِّمُنَا الاسْتخَارَةَ في الأمور كُلُّهَا كَمَا يُعَلِّمُنَا السُّورَةَ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ يَقُولُ إِذَا هَمَّ أَحَدُكُمْ بِالْأَمْرِ فَلْيَرْكَعْ رَكْعَتَيْنِ مِنْ غَيْرِ الْفَرِيضَةِ ثُمَّ لِيَقُلِ اللَّهُمََّّ إِنِّي أستخيرُكَ بِعِلْمِكَ وَأَسْتَقْدِرُكَ بِقُدْرَتِكَ وَأَسْأَلُكَ مِن فَضلِكَ الْعَظيمِ فَإِنَّكَ تَقْدِرُ وَلا أَقْدِرُ وَتَعْلَمُ وَلَا أَعْلَمُ وَأَنْتَ عَلَامُ ب اللهُمََّّ إِنْ كُنتَ تَعْلَمُ أَنَّ هَذَا الْأَمْرَ لي في دِينِي وَمَعِيشَتِي وَعَاقِبَة أَمْرِي أَوْ أَوْ قَالَ قَالَ فِي عَاجِلِ أَمْرِي وَآجِلِهِ فَيَسِّرْهُ لِي ثُمَّ بَارِكْ لِي فِيهِ وَإِنْ كُنتَ تَعْلَمُ أَنَّ هَذَا الْأَمْرُ شَرٌّ لِي فِي دِينِي وَمَعِيشتي وَعَاقِبَةِ أَمْرِي أَوْ قَالَ فِي عَاجِلِ أَمْرِي وَآجِلِهِ فَاصْرِفْهُ عَنِّي وَاصْرِفْنِي عَنْهُ وَاقْدُرْ لِي الْخَيْرَ حَيْثُ كَانَ ثُمَّ أَرْضِنِي بِهِ قَالَ وَيُسَمِّي حَاجَتَهُ قَالَ وَفِي الْبَاب عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ وَأَبِي أيُّوبَ قَالَ أبو عِيسَى حَدِيثُ جَابِرٍ حَدِيثٍ صَحِيحٌ غَرِيبٌ لَا نَعْرِفُهُ إِلَّا مِنْ

حَدِيثٍ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي الْمَوَالِي وَهُوَ شَيْخٌ مَدِينِيٌّ ثِقَةٌ رَوَى عَنْهُ سُفْيَانُ حَدِيثًا وَقَدْ رَوَى عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ غَيْرُ وَاحِدٍ مِنْ الْأَئِمَّةِ وَهُوَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ زيْدِ بْنِ أَبِي الْمَوَالِي * # الترمذي

Translation: The Messenger of Allah said as:

Hadith 341: Hadith 341

341. Narrated by Jaber ibn Abdullah: ' The Messenger of Allah used to teach us Salat Al-Istikhara (the Prayer for Guidance) in all affairs, as he used to teach us the Sora s of the Koran. He said: “ If any of you intended to do any affair, let him perform two Raka'as other than the obligatory prayer, then he says: ' O Allah! I seek your counsel by Your knowledge, and by your power I seek strength, and ask You of Your abundant bounty. For You are Able and I am not. And You are All-Knowing and I am not. And You are the One Knowing the unseen. O Allah! If You know that this affair is good for me in my religion, my livelihood, and the final end of mine, or he said in the present and the deferred affairs of mine, so facilitate it for me. And if You know that this affair is evil for me in my religion, my livelihood, and the final end of mine, or he said in the present and the deferred affairs of mine, detract it from me and detract me from it and decree good for me wherever it might be and let me be content therewith.
