Chapter 90: About Attending the Prayer and the Circles of Knowledge with Tranquility and Self-Possession

Chapter Introduction

٩٠ ـ باب في الندب إلى إتيان الصلَاة والعلم بالسكينة والوقار

Translation: Allah said:

الْقُرْآنُ الْكَرِيمُسُورَةُ الحَجِّ (22:32)
ذَٰلِكَ وَمَن يُعَظِّمْ شَعَائِرَ اللَّهِ فَإِنَّهَا مِن تَقْوَى الْقُلُوبِ
( سُورَةُ الحَجِّ (22:32) )

Translation: " Thus, it is (what has been mentioned in the previous Verses (28-31) in this chapter is an obligation that mankind owes to Allah) and whosoever honors the Symbols of Allah, then it is truly from the piety of the hearts. * " (22: 32)

Hadith 334: Hadith 334

٣٣٤- عَنْ أَبي قَتَادَةَ قَالَ : بَيْنَمَا نَحْنُ نُصلّي مَعَ النَّبِيََََُُِِّّّّّّّّ ، إِذْ سَمِعَ جَلَبَةَ الرِجَالِ ، فَلَمَا صَلّى قَالَ : مَا شَأْنُكُمْ قَالُوا اسْتَعْجَلْنَا إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ . قَالَ : ( فَلَا تَفْعَلُوا إِذَا أَتَيْتُمُ الصَّلَاةَ فَعَلَيْكُمْ بالسكينة ، فَمَا أَدْرَكْتُمْ فَصَلُّوا ، وَمَا فَاتَكُمْ فأتموا ) . رواه البخاري

Translation: 334. Narrated Abu Qatada: ' While we were praying with the Prophet ﷺ he heard the noise of some people. After performing the prayer he said: " What was the problem? " They replied; ' We were hurrying for the prayer. " He said: " Do not make haste for the prayer, and whenever you come for the prayer, you should come with calmness, and pray whatever you get (with the people) and complete the rest that you have missed. " (Bukhari)

Hadith 335: Hadith 335

٣٣٥- حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلَانَ حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ وَبِشْرُ بْنُ السَّرِيِّ وَأَبُو نُعَيْمٍ قَالُوا حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنْ أَبِي الزَّبَيْرِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ أَنَّ النَّبِيَََََُُِّّّّّّّّ صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَوْضَعَ فِي وَادِي مُحَسّرٍ وَزَادَ فِيهِ بِشَرٌ وَأَفَاضَ مِنْ جَمْعِ وَعَلَيْهِ السَّكِينَةُ وَأَمَرَهُمْ بِالسَّكِينَةِ وَزَادَ فِيهِ أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ وَأَمَرَهُمْ أَنْ يَرْمُوا بِمِثْلِ حَصَى الْخَذْفِ وَقَالَ لَعَلِّي لَا أَرَاكُمْ بَعْدَ عَامِي هَذَا قَالَ وَفِي الْبَاب عَنْ أُسَامَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى حَدِيثُ حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ *

Translation: 335. Narrated Jaber: " The Prophet spurred his riding animal in Mohassir valley. " The narration of Bishr adds the following words: " Then he proceeded from Jam'a in tranquility and ordered them to be in tranquility. ' The narration of Abu- No'aym adds the following words: " And he (the Prophet) ordered them to throw the pebbles equal to the beans ' seed and said: ' I might not meet you after this year of mine. " "
