Chapter 121: About Vision and What is Related to it

Chapter Introduction

۱۲۱ ـ باب في الرؤيا وما يتعلق بها
الْقُرْآنُ الْكَرِيمُسُورَةُ الرُّومِ (30:23)
وَمِنْ آيَاتِهِ مَنَامُكُم بِاللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ وَابْتِغَاؤُكُم مِّن فَضْلِهِ ۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ
( سُورَةُ الرُّومِ (30:23) )

Translation: “ And among His Signs is your sleep by night and by day, and your seeking of His Bounty. Verily, in that are indeed signs for a people who listen. (30:23)

٤١٤ - حَدَّثَنَا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ الثَّقَفِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا أَيٌُُّّّوبُ عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ بْنِ سِيرِينَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُوَلَاللهِ صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا اقْتَرَبَ الزَّمَانُ لَمْ تَكَدْ رُؤيَا الْمُؤْمِنِ تَكْذِبُ وَأَصْدَقُهُمْ رُؤْيَا أَصْدَقُهُمْ حَدِيثًا وَرُؤْيَا الْمُسْلِمِ جُزْءٌ مِنْ ستّة وَأَرْبَعينَ جُزْءًا من النُّبُوَّة وَالرُّؤْيَا ثَلاثَ فَالرُّؤْيَا الصَّالِحَةُ بُشْرَى مِنَ الله والرويا من تخزين الشَّيْطَان وَالرُّؤْيَا مِمَا يُحَدِّثُ بِهَا الرَّجُلُ نَفْسَهُ فَإِذَا رَأَى أَحَدُكُمْ مَا يَكْرَهُ فَلْيَقُمْ فَلْيَتقُلْ وَلا يُحَدِّثُ بِهَا النَّاسَ قَالَ وَأُحِبُّ الْقَيْدَ فِي النَّوْمِ وَأَكْرَهُ الْغُلَّ الْقَيْدُ ثَبَاتٌ فِي الدِّينِ قَالَ وَهَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ *

Translation: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said as:

Hadith 414: Hadith 414

414. Narrated by Abu-Huraira: ' The Messenger of Allah said: “ At the end of time, the believer's vision will often come true. The most truthful believer will have the most truthful vision. And the believer's dream is one part of fortysix parts of prophethood. Dreams are of three kinds: a righteous dream is a good tiding from Allah, the sad dream is from Satan, and the dream that one indulges himself in. Thus, if one of you saw what he dislikes, let him get up, spit [ symbolically to the left], and let him not tell people about it. I love fetters and hate yokes for a fetter means feet fixed in the religion (refraining one from doing evil). " (At-Termizi)

Hadith 415: Hadith 415

٤١٥ - حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيلَان حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ عَنْ شُعْبَةَ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ أَنَّهُ منمع أَنَا يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ عُبَادَةَ بن الصَّامت أَنَّ النَّبِيَََََُُِّّّّّّّّ صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ رُؤْيَا الْمُؤْمِن جُزْءٌ مِنْ ستّة وَأَرْبَعِينَ جُزْءًا مِنَ النُّبُوَّةِ قَالَ وَفِي الْبَاب عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ وَأَبِي رَزِينٍ عُقَيْلِي وَأَبِي سَعِيدٍ وَعَبْدِ اللَّهُ ) . بْنِ عَمْرٍو وَعَوْفِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ وَابْنِ عُمَرَ وَأَنَسٍ قَالَ وَحَدِيثُ عُبَادَةً حَدِيث صَحِيحٌ

Translation: 415. Narrated Obada ibn Al-Samit: ' The Prophet said: " The believer's dream is one part of forty six parts of prophethood. " (At-Termizi)

Hadith 416: Hadith 416

٤١٦ - حديث أبي قَتَادَةَ ، قَالَ : : سَمِعْتُ النبي ، يَقُولُ : الرّؤيَا مِنَ اللَّهُ ) . وَالٍحُلُمُ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ ، فَإِذَا رَأَى أَحَدُكُمْ شَيْئًا يَكْرَهُهُ فَلْيَنْفِتْ ، حِينَ يَسْتَيْقِظُ ، ثَلَاثَ مرات ، ويَتَعَوّذ من شَرَهَا ، فَإِنَّّْهَا لَا تَضُرَّهُ أخرجه البخاري

Translation: 416. Narrated Abu Qatada: ' I heard the Prophet saying: " A good dream is from Allah, and a bad dream is from Satan. So if anyone of you sees (in a dream) something 5 i.e. the chain that is tied round the neck of the slave or the prisoner. It was disliked by the Prophet because it is one of the marks of the people of the Fire. Allah says about them: " For the unbelievers, We have prepared chains, yokes, and a blazing Fire * 11 he dislikes, when he gets up, he should blow thrice (on his left side) and seek refuge with Allah from its evil, for then it will not harm him. " (Bukhari)

Hadith 417: Hadith 417

٤١٧ - حديث أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُوَلَاللَّهُ ) . صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : إِذَا اقْتَرَبَ الزَّمَانِ لَمْ تَكَدْ تَكْذِبُ رُؤْيَا الْمُؤْمِن ، وَرُؤيَا الْمُؤمِن جُزْءً مِنْ سِتَةَ وَأَرْبَعِينَ جُزْءًا مِنَ النبوة أخرجه البخاري

Translation: 417. Narrated Abu-Huraira: ' Allah's Messenger said: " When the Day of Resurrection approaches, the dream of a believer will hardly fail to come true, and the dream of a believer is one of the forty-six parts of An-Nobowwah (prophethood). " (Bukhari)

Hadith 418: Hadith 418

٤١٨ - حديث أبي هُرَيْرَةَ رضي اللَّهُ ) . عنه قَالَ : : سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيََََُُِِّّّّّّّّ صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : مَنْ رَآنِي فِي الْمَنَامِ فَسَيَرَانِي فِي الْيَقَظَةِ ، وَلَا يَتَمَثَلُ الشَّيْطَانُ بي أخرجه البخاري

Translation: 418. Narrated Abu-Huraira: ' I heard the Prophet saying: " Whoever sees me in a dream will see me when he is awake, for Satan cannot impersonate me. " (Bukhari)

Hadith 419: Hadith 419

٤١٩ - عَن وَائِلَةَ بْنِ الْأَسْقَعِ ، قَالَ : : قالَ رَسُوَلَاللَّهِ صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : ( إِنَََََّّّّّْ مِنْ أَعْظَمٍ الْفِرَى أَنَّ يَدْعِيَ الرّجُلُ إِلَى غَيْرِ أَبِيهِ ، أَوْ يُريَ عَيْنَهُ مَا لَمْ تَرَهُ ، أَوْ يَقُولَ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَا لَمْ يَقُلْ ) . رواه البخاري

Translation: 419. Narrated Wathila ibn Al-Asqa: ' Allah's Messenger said: " Verily, one of the worst lies is to claim falsely to be the son of someone other than one's real father, or to claim to have had a dream one has not had, or to attribute to me what I have not said. " (Bukhari)
