Chapter 279: About the Forbiddance of Leaving the Lamp lit while Sleeping
Hadith 930: Hadith 930
۹۳۰ حديث ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيََََُُِِّّّّّّّّ ، قَالَ : : لَا تَتْرُكُوا النَّارَ فِي بُيُوتِكُمْ حينَ تَنَامُونَ أخرجه البخاري
Translation: 930. Narrated Ibn Omar may Allah be pleased with them; ' The Prophet said: " Do not keep the fire burining in your houses when you go to bed. " (Bukhari).
Hadith 931: Hadith 931
۹۳۱ - عَنْ أَبِي مُوسى رَضِيَ اللَّهُ ) . عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : احْتَرَقَ بَيْتٌ بِالمَدِينَةِ عَلَى أَهْلِهِ مِنْ اللَّيْلِ ، فَحُدَتْ بِشَأْنِهِمُ النّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : إِنّ هَذِهِ النَّارَ إِنَّمَا هِيَ عَدُوّ لَكُمْ ، فَإِذَا نِمْتُمْ فَأَطْفِئُوهَا عَنْكُمْ . رواه البخاري
Translation: 931. Narrated Abu-Musa; ' One night a house in Madina was burnt with its occupants. On this occasion, the Prophet ﷺ said: “ This fire is indeed your enemy, so whenever you go to bed, put it out (to protect yourselves). " (Bukhari)
Hadith 932: Hadith 932
٩٣٢ - حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ أَنَّسٍ عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ : قَالَ النَّبِيََََُُِِّّّّّّّّ صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَعْلَقُوا الْبَابَ وَأُوكِنُوا السَّقَاءَ وَأَكْفُتُوا الإناءَ أَوْ خَمرُوا الإناءَ وَأَطْفِئُوا الْمِصْبَاحَ فَإِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ لا يَفْتَحُ غَلَقًا ولا يَحِلُّ وكَاءً وَلَا يَكْشِفُ آنِيَةً وَإِنَّ الْفُوَيْسِقَةَ تُضرِمُ عَلَى النَّاسَ بَيْتَهُمْ قَالَ وَفِي الْبَاب عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ وَأَبِي هُرَيْرَةً وَابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ أبو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ وَقَدْ رُوِيَ مِنْ غَيْرِ وَجْهِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ
Translation: 932. Narrated Jaber; ' The Prophet said: " Close the door, tie the mouth of the water container, convert or he said: " Cover " the utensil, and pt off the lantern. For, Satan does not open a closed thing, tie a tied mouth, nor does it uncover a covered container, and the mouse may burn the house on its owner. " (At-Termizi).
