Chapter 244: About strict Forbiddance of Perjury

Chapter Introduction

٢٤٤ باب غلظ تحريم شهادة الزور
الْقُرْآنُ الْكَرِيمُسُورَةُ الحَجِّ (22:30)
ذَٰلِكَ وَمَن يُعَظِّمْ حُرُمَاتِ اللَّهِ فَهُوَ خَيْرٌ لَّهُ عِندَ رَبِّهِ ۗ وَأُحِلَّتْ لَكُمُ الْأَنْعَامُ إِلَّا مَا يُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْكُمْ ۖ فَاجْتَنِبُوا الرِّجْسَ مِنَ الْأَوْثَانِ وَاجْتَنِبُوا قَوْلَ الزُّورِ
( سُورَةُ الحَجِّ (22:30) )

Translation: Allah said:

Translation: " That (The rituals prescribed for Hajj are the obligation that mankind owes to Allah), and whoever honors the sacred things of Allah, then that is better for him with his Lord. The cattle are lawful to you, except those (that will be) mentioned to you (as exceptions). So shun the abomination (worshipping) of idol, and shun lying speech (false statements ** S: 22-30. And

الْقُرْآنُ الْكَرِيمُسُورَةُ الإِسۡرَاءِ (17:36)
وَلَا تَقْفُ مَا لَيْسَ لَكَ بِهِ عِلْمٌ ۚ إِنَّ السَّمْعَ وَالْبَصَرَ وَالْفُؤَادَ كُلُّ أُولَٰئِكَ كَانَ عَنْهُ
( سُورَةُ الإِسۡرَاءِ (17:36) )

Translation: “ And do not think ill about what you have no knowledge. Verily, you are responsible for your hearing, sight, and heart. * " (17: 36) And

الْقُرْآنُ الْكَرِيمُسُورَةُ قٓ (50:18)
مَّا يَلْفِظُ مِن قَوْلٍ إِلَّا لَدَيْهِ رَقِيبٌ عَتِيدٌ
( سُورَةُ قٓ (50:18) )

Translation: " Not a word does he (or she) utter, but there is a watcher by him ready (to record it). * " (50: 18) And

الْقُرْآنُ الْكَرِيمُسُورَةُ الفَجۡرِ (89:14)
إِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَبِالْمِرْصَادِ
( سُورَةُ الفَجۡرِ (89:14) )

Translation: " Verily, your Lord is Ever Watchful (over them). * " (89: 14) And

( وَالٍَّذِينَ لَا يَشْهَدُونَ الزَّورَ وَإِذَا مَرُوا بِاللَّغْوِ مَرُّوا كِرَامًا ﴾
( الفرقان ( ۷۲ )

Translation: " And those who do not bear witness to falsehood, and if they pass by some evil play or evil talk, they pass by it with dignity. * " (25:72)

Translation: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said as:

Hadith 838: Hadith 838

۸۳۸ - حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ حَدَّثَنَا مَرْوَانُ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ بْنِ زِيَادٍ الْأَسَدِيِّ عَنْ فَاتِكِ بْنِ فَضَالَةَ عَنْ أَيْمَنَ بْنِ حُرَيْمٍ أَنَّ النَّبِيََََُُُِّّّّّّّّ صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَامَ خَطِيبًا فَقَالَ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسَ عَدَلَتْ شَهَادَةُ الزُورِ إِشْرَاكًا بِاللَّهِ ثُمَََّّّ قَرَأَ رَسُوَلَاللَّهِ صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ذَلِكَ وَمَنِّيُعَظِّمْ حُرُمَاتِ اللَّهِ فَهُوَ خَيْرٌ لَّهُ عِندَ رَبِهِ وَأُحِلَّتْ لَكُمُ الأَنْعَامُ إِلَّا مَا يُتْلَى عَلَيْكُمْ فَاجْتَنِبُوا الرِّجْسَ مِنَ الأَوْثَانِ وَاجْتَنِبُوا قَوْلَ الزُور ( ( الحج : ۳۰ ) ( ٣٠ ) قَالَ أَبو عِيسَى وَهَذَا حَدِيثٌ غَرِيبٌ إِنَََََّّّّّْمَا نَعْرِفُهُ مِنْ حَدِيثٍ سُفْيَانَ بْنِ زِيَادٍ وَاخْتَلَفُوا فِي وَايَةٍ هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ بْنِ زِيَادٍ وَلَا نَعْرِفُ لَأَيْمَنَ بْنِ حُرَيْمٍ سَمَاعًا مِنَ

Translation: 838. Narrated by Ayman ibn Khoraym: ' The Prophet addressed the people: " O people! Perjury equals ascribing partners to Allah. " Ayman said: ' Then the Messenger of Allah recited:

Translation: " Such (is the pilgrimage) and whoever honors the sacred rites of Allah, for him it is good in the sight of his Lord. Lawful to you (for food) are cattle, except those mentioned to you (as exceptions). Thus, shun the abomination of idols, and shun perjury. * " (22: 30) (At-Termizi)

Hadith 839: Hadith 839

۸۳۹- حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ وَهُوَ ابْنُ زِيَادٍ الْعُصْفُرِيُّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ النُّعَمٍّانِ الأَسَدِيِّ عَنْ خُرَيْمِ بْنِ فَاتِكَ الْأَسَدِيِّ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى صَلاةَ الصُّبْح فَلَمَا انْصَرَفَ قَامَ قَائِمًا فَقَالَ عُدلَتْ شَهَادَةً النُّورِ بِالشِّرْكِ بِاللَّهِ ثَلاثَ مَرَّاتٍ ثُمَََّّّ تَلا هَذِهِ الآيَةَ ذَلِكَ وَمِنَ يُعَظِّمْ حُرُمَاتِ اللَّهِ فَهُوَ خَيْرٌ لَّهُ عِنْدَ رَبِهِ وَأُحِلَّتْ لَكُمُ الأَنْعَامُ إِلَّا مَا يُتْلَى عَلَيْكُمْ فَاجْتَنِبُوا الرِّجْسَ مِنْ الْأَوْثَانِ وَاجْتَنِبُوا قَوْلَ الزَّور ( ( الحج : ۳۰ ) " ۳۰ ) إِلَى آخِرِ الْآيَةِ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا عِندِي أَصَحُ وَخُرَيْمُ بْنُ فَاتِكَ لَهُ صُحْبَةٌ وقَدْ رَوَى عَنِ النَّبِيََََُُِِّّّّّّّّ صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَحَادِيثَ
و هو مشهور

Translation: 839. Narrated Khoraym ibn Fatik Al-Asadi;: " The Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed the Morning Prayer. When he completed it he rose up and said: " Perjury has been equaled with ascribing partners to Allah three times. " " Then, he recited Allah's statement:

Hadith 840: Hadith 840

٨٤٠ - حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدُ بنُ مَسْعَدَةَ حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ الْمُفَضَلِ حَدَّثَنَا الْجُرَيْرِيُّ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمِنْ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَلَا أُحَدِّتُكُمْ بِأَكِبْرٌ الْكَبَائِرِ قَالُوا بَلَى يَا رَسُولَ الله قَالَ الإشراك بالله وَعَقُوقُ الْوَالٍدَيْنِ قَالَ وَجَلَسَ وَكَانَ مُتَّكِنًا فَقَالَ وَشَهَادَةُ الزُورِ أَوْ قَولُ الزُورِ فَمَا زَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُهَا حَتَّى قُلْنَا لَيْتَهُ سَكَتَ قَالَ وَفِي الْبَاب عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ قَالَ أَبو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ وَأَبُو بَكْرَةَ اسْمُهُ نُفَيْعُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ

Translation: 840. Narrated Abu-Bakra ' The Prophet said thrice: " Should I tell you about the most dangerous of the major sins? " They said: " Yes, O Allah's Messenger! " He said: " To join others in worship with Allah and to be undutiful to one's parents. " The Prophet was reclining, then sat erect and said: " Particularly, avoid perjury. " Abu-Bakra said: " The Messenger of Allah kept on repeating this many times until we said (in ourselves): " Would it be that he had kept silent. " (At-Termizi)

Hadith 841: Hadith 841

٨٤١- حديث أبي بَكْرَةَ قَالَ : قَالَ النَّبِيََََُُِِّّّّّّّّ صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَلَا أُنَبِّئُكُمْ بِأَكِبْرٌ الْكَبَائِرِ ثَلَاثًا ، قَالُوا : بلى يا رَسُولَ اللهِ ، قَالَ : الإشراك باللهِ وَعُقُوقُ الْوَالٍدَيْنِ وَجَلَسَ ، وَكَانَ متكئًا ، فَقَالَ أَلَا وَقَوَلَالزور قَالَ فَما زَالَ يُكَبِّرُها حَتَّى قُلْنَا لَيْتَهُ سَكَتَ أخرجه البخاري

Translation: 841. Narrated Abu Abu - - Bakrah❤ Bakrah:: ' The Prophet said (thrice): " Should I inform you about the gravest sin of the major sins? " They said: " Yes. O Allah's Messenger! " He said: " Ascribing others in worship with Allah and being undutiful to one's parents. " " Abu-Bakra said: ' The Prophet was reclining. He sat up erect and said: " And avoid perjury. " Abu-Bakra said: ' The Prophet kept on repeating this " And avoid perjury " many times in a way we said to ourselves: ' Would it be that he will stop. " (Bukhari)
